Ian Bustard trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is a BAFTA award wining director and actor. Screen work includes Above the Clouds, Outlander, Still Game, Hustle, River City, Casualty, Life ofRiley, Blue Christmas, and Legit. As a director his work has been shown on the BBC, ITV, Amazon Prime and as a part of various International Film Festivals. He is attracted to character stories with a strong human element. He formed Underground Cinema Club so he could use his experience to build a strong filmmaking network in The North East of Scotland and produce original work.
The Falkirk Cowboys is a documentary film that tells the story of a group of factory workers in Falkirk during the 1970s who made Cowboy Films in their spare time. It is an unikley tale full of comedy, warmth and charm. The film was screened on the BBC and I made this with Objective Media. The film received a number of rave reviews and was pick of the week in the Scotland on Sunday.

Marty Goes to Hollywood is a film with no budget about a guy in a film with a big budget.Despite getting gets his big break playing Tom Hanks' Irish brother in the movie Cloud Atlas, Marty can't afford to go to his Hollywood premiere. His pals make a pledge to get Marty to the red carpet in Hollywood and decide to film the process but Hollywood does not welcome the idea of a film being made on their turf.

The film takes a look at the reality of how a Scottish jobbing actor fits into the massive US film-industry machine. The film won the BAFTA New Talent Award.

A love Divided is a short film that I made with Solar Bear. The film is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet and the performers were all from Solar Bear's Deaf Youth Theatre. The film is totally silent except for an epic score by composer Scott Twynholm.

Amlet is is a very short modern punky version of Hamlet. It is set on estate in North London. The film won the special Commendation award at West Herts College London where it was produced by me as part of a Post Graduate Diploma in film-making. It was later screened at the Raindance Film Festival. Trivia fact - The family in the film are a real life family and the film was an acting debut for Tony and Sue who play Claudius and Gertrude.
